Minchenden Lodge is the first “care hotel” ever to be established in the United Kingdom. Created and opened by Scimitar Care Hotels PLC in 1973, it has been supporting the local people of Southgate, London for over forty five years.
Whilst Minchenden is effectively a residential care home for the elderly, the “care hotel” moniker is derived by the standard of accommodation provided which is akin to a five star hotel. No expense has been spared in the development of the decor within the hotel, giving every one of our residents the feeling of living in a luxury hotel, every day of the year. We are also one of the only operators in the country to offer rooms on a respite basis 365 days of the year.
